Learning new words

How you first meet a new word. Set the initial wait for each button (Again / Hard / Good / Easy) in their own sections below.

Learning steps (minutes)

Ordered delays separated by spaces, for example: 1 10.

Graduating interval (days)

After completing all learning steps, the card is "learned" and you'll see it again after this many days.

Easy interval (days)

Easy skips all learning steps and graduates the card immediately.

Starting "ease" (%)

A card's personal "easiness". When you press "Good" on a review, the next interval = previous × ease. Default 250 (= 2.5×).

Again

"Again" — I forgot

Press when you couldn't remember the word at all. The card comes back very soon and becomes a bit harder.

Keep this % of the old interval

When you forget a learned word: 0% means start over from scratch, 25% keeps a quarter of the old interval as the new one.

Reduce ease by % points

How much harder the card becomes. Default 20 — if ease was 250%, it drops to 230%.

"Hard" — I struggled

Press when you remembered, but with effort. The card comes back only slightly later than before, and becomes a bit harder.

Multiply interval by %

How much the wait grows. Default 120 — if you saw the card 10 days ago, you'll see it again in 12 days.

Reduce ease by % points

The card gets a bit harder over time. Default 15.

"Good" — I remembered

The normal, standard answer. You remembered without much effort. The next wait grows by the card's "ease" — set in the Learning block above.

Easy

"Easy" — trivial

Press when you knew it instantly, no effort at all. You'll see the card much later, and it becomes easier over time.

Extra multiplier for "Easy" (%)

On top of "Good". Default 130 — so "Easy" waits about 30% longer than "Good".

Increase ease by % points

The card gradually becomes easier. Default 15.
